Attendance

Like other professional services, the Cleveland Cello School reserves a specific day of the week and time slot for your lesson which we are unable to fill in your absence. For this reason, CCS does not provide refunds or make-up lessons for student absences which include, but are not limited to: travel, school, family event and illness. In the event that you are unable to make your in-person lesson, you are encouraged to use your lesson time in one of the following ways: swap lesson times with another student in the same week, request a lesson via zoom, or provide a self-recording of your current repertoire by the time of your lesson that your teacher may view it and provide feedback.

In the event of a faculty absence, CCS will work with you to find a mutually agreeable makeup lesson time. If you are absent from an agreed upon makeup lesson, that lesson will be considered a student absence and will not be refunded.

No makeups are available for group class student absences. The success of group classes as well as scope and sequence for long term development of skills are dependant upon regular group class attendance, so please make group class a priority. If you are unable to attend, you may request to attend virtually. In the event of inclement weather on a group class day resulting in school or building closure, that class will take place on zoom. In the case of any other teacher absence for group class, every effort will be made to find a sub.

Tuition

For the school year, tuition is charged at the start of each semester and may be paid in full by August 15/December 15 or broken down into 2 equal payments due Aug 15 and October 15/December 15 and February 15 . Tuition includes lessons and all group class activities. All payments are due by the 15th of the indicated month (you may turn in checks prior to the 15th, Abbey won’t cash them until the due date).  A 3% fee will be assessed for online payments, no fee will be assessed for Zelle, check or cash payments.

While tuition for group classes is included, a $30 accompanist fee/semester/student is required for all Saturday group participants and is due at the first group class meeting directly to the collaborative pianist. This fee covers all group class accompanying, Center Stage performances and Saturday morning rehearsals. It does not cover studio recital, audition or competition accompanying.

For the summer session, the calendar is released 2-3 weeks at a time.  You may sign up for lessons through the appointlet app at your convenience, at least 24 hours prior to the lesson.  All lessons must be paid for at the time of booking.  If paying by check or cash, you may indicate that in email or text message and bring the cash or check to the first lesson of that cycle.

A $20/3 days late fee will be assessed for late payments. Students with delinquent accounts, those more than 2 weeks late, will have lessons suspended until full payment is made with no makeups for missed lessons, and no guarantee of a future spot at CCS.

Please contact us for tuition rates.

Covid/Illness Policies

Masks are not required for any CCS activities. In an effort to keep the teachers healthy so they may continue to teach everyone in person, we ask that you please mask if you or your child have any cold symptoms. If you come to lessons/group with cold symptoms you will be asked to mask or will need to leave. Masks are not provided by CCS. Zoom lessons are always available for mild illness.

Do not bring an ill child to a lesson or group class, you will be asked to leave and will forfeit that lesson time without a make up. Please see attendance policies for alternatives to missing your lesson.
